The stylized hair and twisting form of the female torso here make this piece come alive. It was sculpted and crafted between the wars in an era when Bohemia was, arguably, the world’s most important center of glass production. The Desna company in Czechoslovakia continues to make this piece today, but with an opaque black glass base.
