Carrying forth the WPA-era artistic fascination in the working man into the late 1950s , this medal features the iconic American man with his hand on the plow and a sack full of grain on one side, and a woman feeding a goose on the other. Artist Charles Rudy exhbited widely in the 1930s and 1940s, and executed murals for post offices in the Bronx (NY) and York, PA, and in public schools.
