St. George and the Dragon The Knabstrup ceramic works, like many others in Europe, produced largely utilitarian wares for much of its history, but in the 1920s, 30s and 40s experimented with artist-designed pieces, many quite exceptional. A leading example of this phenomenon was H. F. Gross' work for Knabstrup in the early 1940s, when he produced a number of highly-distinctive, mannered vases and urns in a stylized Art Deco manner. Some, such as this St. George and the Dragon urn, are reminiscent of Wilhelm Hunt Diederich's work in America. To Order: Click on the "Add to Cart" button above.
