Mother and Children A lovely, touching ceramic piece attributed to Gertrude Kay, a watercolorist and artist active in the 1930s. Gorgeously finished in a subtly mottled, rich brown glaze, the piece depicts what appears to be a loving domestic scene of African Americans: a mother hugging a girl and boy. Kay was a student of Howard Pyle, the great illustrator and founder of the Brandywine School of painters, and lived most of her life in Ohio. To Order: Click on the "Add to Cart" button above.
