Indian Chief and Squaws This rare bas relief featuring American Indian figures was sculpted by one of Boston's most proflic sculptors -- Raymond Porter. After graduating from the Boston Museum School of Fine Art, Porter went on to exhibit across the East Coast and Midwest, and created a wide range of public scuptures in Massachusetts, Vermont and Virginia. This piece, finely crafted of repousse copper with a dark bronze patina, depicts a dignified, age-creased Indian chief lifting a bundle of corn to the heavens, surrounded by three kneeling squaws and a child.
