Nothing is known about Esther Rohr, but this very fine terra cotta head (signed and dated 1948) is a classic piece of figural sculpture. The subject's face is noble and strong, his lips are full and sensuous, and his hair is a bit wavy like a bit of subtly carved Moderne molding. Properly lit, this piece makes a dramatic statement!
